Job... so... tiring...
But on the brighter side, I'm financial! Yay!
With my new found cash flow, I've found myself irresistibly drawn to trade paperbacks. Lately I've picked up "Courtney Crumbin and the Coven of Mystics", "Astro City: Confession", the first Ex Machina trade (I have the issues, but the trade is all neat!), the second 100 bullets trade, and I've ordered the first Runaways trade so I can use it in my English classes (again, I have the issues). The Astro City story was especially cool, I'm a sucker for good characterisation.
Also, at a faculty meeting for the school the other English teachers expressed curiosity about comics, and which ones could be used in the classroom. I said that I'd bring in a few good ones so that they could have a look at them. So far I'm leaning towards Ruse, Courtney Crumbin, Runaways, the Astro City trades and Ex Machina (with a note saying it's for older students only and has swear words). Anyone else have any suggestions about comics that could be used to show teachers that the medium can be used in schools?
