Here's an interesting site. For all the stuff you never needed to know...

I actually found it looking for info on New York's Pneumatic Subway, after hearing the quite bizarre story mentioned in a book I'm reading. How odd. How unfortunate, too. It didn't seem like such a bad idea, really.

*snicker* There's also this article on cheating penguins :-).

In comic news, DC has a new logo. Well, that's... special. And kinda unnecessary, if you ask me personally, but they aren't, so I'll just shut up.

In more important news, at least to me, Geoff Johns is leaving The Flash as soon as he's done with the Rogue War storyline. This... I'm not sure what to think about this. The one thing I really like about John's work on this title, and the big reason I'm leery of him leaving, is the emphasis on the Flash's Rogues Gallery. I love what he's done with them (well okay, with the minor exception of Heat Wave) and I love how often they get used. I'm afraid that if someone else takes over they'll go back to the whole title being Wally + Speedsters + no-one else. And let me let you in on a secret that you've all probably guessed by now; I don't actually find DC's speedsters very interesting. Hell, I don't even find Wally all that interesting. I mean, I don't dislike him, he's a nice enough character and all, but if someone gave me a choice between reading a Flash title and reading a Rogues title? I'd be on the Rogues like that.

Wait, that sounded wrong. Or possibly just right :-).

The point is, I've heard all these complaints about how the Rogues are taking over Wally's title and all I can say is, "Yes, that's right. Good, isn't it?" I have a horrible feeling that the next writer might not feel that way. And now I'm worried that I'm going to lose one of my favourite titles by dint of it turning into something I don't actually find all that interesting.

D'oh.

I dunno. I think it's a touch generic, myself. Nothing bad, just too samey.

What was wrong with the old one? Somethings just shouldn't be messed with. *twitches*

It does seem a tad over top with the whole 'we are new and cool and like a different company!', doesn't it?

Hey Blinky. Someone sent me a link to your scary-ass "On Becoming a Woman" bit, and I submitted it to Fark.com. I should have asked first, but I honestly thought it would have been submitted already. Anyway, if you get a huge surge in hits, that's why, and if so, I do apologize for not asking ahead of time.

Oh, that's fine. I have no probs with linking; I'm finding it very interesting to see how far the link has gone!

You stole the quote I was going to use for my next post! Damn your eyes! Now I'll have to think of something else equally miserable next time I update :).

How are you anyway? Missed you on Saturday, which was a shame as we could have used some enthusiasm. Sigh...

Oh, did you download it in the end? I forget. Most... depressing... song... ever...

I'm tired. Really, very tired, which was why I didn't end up attending :-(. I will be at the pub meet though, I promise!

'Rose' was very cool. Yay!
