I, for one, welcome our new metrosexual overlords. I'd like to remind them that as a trusted TF personality, I could be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground facial moisturizer caves

Nononononono! Hugging *bad*. Handshake *good*. Hugging is a disgusting habit. Isn't there a chapter denouncing it in On Becoming A Woman?

Oh right, there isn't. Well there bloody well should be. Hmph!

Seriously though, what is the etiquette on shaking hands when meeting a member of the fairer sex? I thought the gesture was universal, but apparently it's not the done thing. I shall continue doing it regardless, however...

I dunno, I think shaling hands has actually fallen out of favour among the under forties as being too formal. Kinda okay for business meetings, but not for meeting friends at the pub. A slap on the back or a tap on the shoulder, a wave, even a (horrors!) hug seems to be the way people are going. But I can't say I'm an expert at social behaviour, so what do I know?
